Florida authorities are looking for the gunman who opened fire at a rising high school football star’s car and killed him Thursday.
Kennesaw State University and Pine Forest High School communities are mourning the untimely loss of 18-year-old Ladarius Clardy who was gunned down while traveling before crashing.
“The name should be familiar to some of us that are there from this area,” Escambia County Sheriff Chip Simmons said.
“He had a bright, athletic history. And he had a bright, athletic future.”
Simmons added that a 19-year-old passenger was also in the car and sustained serious wounds.
“What we want to do is make sure that we have a complete rundown of what took place last night,” Simmons told reporters.
“Because this is not just a statistic, this is a son, this is a friend, and this is a teammate. And enough is enough. We cannot sit here and just keep saying, ‘Oh another, another senseless act of violence.’ So we need your help.”
