‘He is a good person’: Shaken wife of NFL cornerback calls 911 as drunk, suicidal husband broke into in-laws’ home

Washington authorities have arrested NFL cornerback Richard Sherman early Wednesday when his “shaken” wife called 911 asking for help.

The 33-year-old swarmed his in-laws' home and attacked his wife’s uncle threatening to kill himself, Ashley Moss told police, and “sent text messages to people saying he is going to hang himself.”

The former San Francisco 49ers star was arrested and charged with burglary domestic violence.”

Authorities said that he may also be involved in a hit-and-run/ DUI crash after locating his damaged car near a construction barrier’s collision site.

  • Moss said that her husband was “a good person” and had only drunk “two bottles” of hard liquor prior to the incident.

    “At this time, we’re going to make no statements, except that he didn’t harm anybody,” Moss told reporters.

    “My kids were not harmed in the incident. He’s a good person and this is not his character.”

    “We’re doing all-right, just trying to get him out. I want people to know no one was injured.”
