Elderly California man found dead in pond with loyal Doberman waiting by water

After more than 14 hours of search, crews looking for a missing elderly man located his lifeless body in a pond, with his loyal Doberman waiting near the scene.

70-year-old John Stewart went missing at around 9 p.m. Monday. His body was found the following day in a water body in southwest Nevada County, north of Auburn.

    Authorities said that there were no apparent signs of foul play. Stewart’s cause of death is being determined by Nevada County officials.
