Houston news, Texas news.

A fiery Houston crash had claimed the lives of three people including a toddler early Friday morning.

Public Information Officer Kris Parrent said that two vehicles had collided at around 1:15 a.m. in westbound lanes of Westpark Tollway in Mission Bend.

Fort Bend County deputies later determined that the involved cars were a black Hyundai sedan traveling the wrong way and an Audi.

Both drivers of the involved vehicles passed away at the scene, Parrent added, including the female driver of the Audi after she was trapped in the burning vehicle.

“This is a pretty horrific crash,” Sgt. Danny Beckworth said. “The family shouldn’t have to go through this.”

“Right now, we’re working with the toll road authority to try and get the cameras to see where they might have gotten on the tollway the wrong way. That, right now, is still under investigation.”
