Parents in custody after baby girl overdoses on drugs found in almost all rooms

Maine authorities have arrested a couple after their baby girl nearly died of a drug overdose late last month.

Taezja DiPietro, 22; and Zachary Borg, 26; were arrested and charged with furnishing drugs to a minor, domestic violence reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon of a child, and possession of fentanyl.

Their 11-month-old girl was found on cardiac arrest at 9:17 a.m. on June 26. Penobscot County Sheriff’s deputies and Corinna Fire Personnel attempted life-saving measures and rushed her to a hospital.

  • The girl was “successfully resuscitated and stabilized.” A search of the couple’s home revealed fentanyl’s presence in “several rooms including the girl’s bedroom.”

    DiPietro and Borg were booked into the Penobscot County jail on $50,000 and $10,000 respectively.

    They were denied contacting each other or using drugs.
