Benton Harbor news, Michigan news.

A Michigan man who wrongfully spent 16 years behind bars had ultimately walked free Friday after being cleared of a triple homicide he did not commit.

Corey McCall had long been accused of shooting three people dead including a 12-year-old at a Benton Harbor residence back in 2005.

The man insisted he was innocent but a survivor’s testimony that they spotted him with the perpetrators led to his conviction.

Now authorities obtained Walmart footage showing that McCall was actually away from the crime scene. The other suspects in the case chose to wait years before revealing he was not with them.

McCall would receive up to $50,000 from the state for every single year he spent behind bars.
