El Paso news, Texas news.

Vice President Kamala Harris arrived Friday in El Paso, Texas amid her highly-anticipated visit to the US-Mexico border.

Raising an eyebrow, she snapped at a reporter who criticized her late decision to visit the zone even though she was appointed to handle the crisis 100 days ago.

“Well, it’s not my first visit. I’ve been to the border many times,” Harris said.

The Vice-President urged lawmakers of both parties to stop “finger-pointing” and “do what we need to do.”

“As you’ve heard me say many times, most people don’t want to leave home, and when they do it’s usually because they are fleeing some kind of harm or they cannot take care of the simple basic needs of their family by staying where they are.”

“We are here today to address and to talk about what had brought people to the US border, otherwise we will continue to see the effects we are seeing.”

Anti-government protesters greeted the Vice President holding angry signs. Texas Senator Ted Cruz did not miss to blast the Vise President on Twitter.

“93 days too late,” he wrote. “It only took more than half a million illegal immigrants entering the US, more than 400,000 pounds of drugs seized, dozens of US Senators and House members traveling to the southern border for Border Czar Kamala Harris to finally visit the southern border.”
