Lauderhill news, Florida news.

Florida authorities have identified the bodies of two girls found floating in a Lauderhill canal Tuesday and arrested their mother in connection to their deaths.

9-year-old Destiny Hogan and sister Daysha, 7, were recovered from waters Tuesday afternoon.

Their mom, 36-year-old Tinessa Hogan was named a person of interest in their deaths after many witnesses reported seeing her near the canal with the girls.

“She was in the water swimming, she had a bible and she told me to come here,” a witness recalled.

Other witnesses reported similar incidents with Hogan on Monday evening. Police declined to reveal whether the mom was mentally ill.

“At this time, we are exploring all possible leads. Detectives have been working nonstop since yesterday,” Lt. Mike Bigwood said.

“I think any knowledge of the family, the family dynamic, activities that the family engaged in together, just general information about who they were and what their day-to-day life was like would be extremely helpful.”
