Phoenix authorities said that at least four people were killed and nine others wounded when a tanker truck collided with oncoming traffic late Wednesday night.
Among the injured, six people are listed in critical condition following the crash that unfolded at around 10 p.m. on a Phoenix road.
The semi-truck hauling a fuel tanker crashed into multiple vehicles when it failed to slow down and crossed over the concrete median.
Several cars traveling on the westbound lanes collided with the truck that “came to rest” on one of its sides.
Public Information Officer Raul Garcia added that an investigation into the deadly crash has been launched.
The identities of the deceased are being determined.
