A Michigan man who was out on bond for 48 hours has allegedly stabbed a 13-year-old girl dead and raped two women.
40-year-old Isaiah G. “Zeek” Gardenhire grinned and mocked Judge Sara Spencer-Noggle as she announced his bond be set at $3 million.
Shortly after he was released on bond, Gardenhire went to his girlfriend’s home and assaulted her, police said Tuesday.
“At some point during that altercation, Mr. Gardenhire’s attention turned to the girlfriend’s daughter, who was in the home as well.”
The suspect stabbed the teen girl to death and fled to a Mount Pleasant home where he held a couple of hostages.
“This is certainly a horrific tragedy and a completely senseless loss of life,” Prosecutor David Barberi said. “Our focus now is on the healing of the victims.”
