California mom leaves toddler to die in hot car while she tended to cannabis plants

A California toddler was pronounced dead late Thursday after she was left in a hot car for nearly three hours while her mom tended to her marijuana plants.

3-year-old Jessica Campos died at a local hospital despite a Visalia Police officer quickly responding to the scene and performing CPR on her.

Eustajia Mojica, 28, told detectives that she had left her daughter for over two hours while she tended and processed her weed plants.

  • “The outdoor temperature was determined to be at least 100 degrees at the time of the incident,” Police said. A special narcotics unit visited the family residence.

    A total of seventy mature marijuana plants, eighty immature marijuana plants, and 200 pounds of processed pot were discovered inside.

    Four juvenile including two 9-month-olds were living at the residence along with four adults that were all arrested and charged with child endangerment.
