Officers responding to an abused woman’s call to help retrieve her belongings from an ex-boyfriend’s home made a gruesome discovery of a deceased body.
The incident occurred at around 3 a.m. Tuesday when a woman called 911 and asked for their assistance to get back her belongings from an apartment in the 16500 block of Quail Prairie Drive.
The victim said that she’d been living there with the abuser before his arrest on separate charges, Houston Police Department Investigator Joshua Horn said.
“Upon entry, an officer discovered something was not right,” Horn added.
A young man’s body was behind a couch in the living room, wrapped in a tarp and blankets.
The woman did not recognize the decedent. An investigation has been launched to identify him and determine a cause of death.
