Federal prosecutor among Brooklyn shooting victims: ‘This is Brooklyn in 70s and 80s’

Two bystanders were struck by stray bullets late Friday when a 17-year-old gunman opened fire outside a packed Brooklyn restaurant.

Federal Prosecutor Mollie Bracewell, 34, was one of the injured. She was reportedly dining outside Muse in Prospect Heights at 9 p.m. when gang members started exchanging fire.

The US Attorney’s Office attorney felt pain in her left eye and found out she’d been struck with a bullet fragment lodged into her face.

  • “They shot the glass door and the glass door was broken,” the Muse manager Onvadee Bunsri said.

    “The customers were down on the floor. Everyone was down on the floor,” adding that Bracewell seemed “really hurt: This is really scary. She was just eating.”

    A Brooklyn resident voiced his concerns over the rising of shooting incidents in recent months.

    “This is Brooklyn in the 1970s and 1980s. I didn’t feel like I would live through this twice.”
