US Border agent admits bringing Mexican woman illegally to work as her nanny

3years ago

Laredo news, Texas news.

According to federal court documents, a former US Customs and Border Protection agent had admitted to helping an illegal Mexican migrant cross the Texas border earlier this year.

40-year-old Rhonda Lee Walker accepted a plea deal to conspiracy to bring the woman into American soil so she would work as her nanny.

On Jan. 2, Walker logged into a colleague’s computer and modified information to help the woman sneak into America through the Laredo Port of Entry.

  • “Walker intended for the woman to illegally enter the country and work for her as a housekeeper and nanny,” US Attorney Jennifer Lowery said.

“Walker also lied to authorities. She falsely stated Trevino was her biological aunt and denied processing her entry or employing her in her home.”

As part of the deal, prosecutors will dismiss counts of illegally transporting the woman into the US and lying to investigators.
