Culver City news, California news.

Authorities in California are looking for a thief who stole a valuable French bulldog puppy from its owner at gunpoint Wednesday evening.

The 10-month-old pup was listed for sale on social media by his owner who got contacted by the suspect.

The owner and potential buyer arranged a meeting for the deal in Canterbury Drive, Culver City, and following a brief exchange, moved to the owner’s car for viewing.

Authorities launched a manhunt for the suspect described as a Black man in his mid-twenties, standing around 5 foot 10, with a thin build. He was sporting a blue sweater, grey pants, and red shoes during the Wednesday incident.

“It’s a shame that people and animals must suffer like this,” spcaLA’s President Madeline Bernstein commented. “But when the demand drops, so will the interest in being a supplier.”

French bulldogs’ owners are urged to remain vigilant during walks with their pets and microchip them to help find them if stolen.
