Alabama baby’s cause of death determined leading to dad Caleb Whisnand’s charges upgrading

Caleb Whisnand, the Alabama father arrested Wednesday in connection with his infant son’s death, had his manslaughter charges upgraded to capital murder after new developments in the case.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office revealed Caleb Jr.’s cause of death as blunt force trauma to the head.

The five-week-old went missing late Monday when his father called 911 at around 11 p.m. to report he had lost him at a gas station.

    “Right now, it’s still early,” Montgomery County Sheriff Derrick Cunningham said about the investigation.”

    “We still have a lot of leads we’ve got to follow up on,” he added insisting that further charges could be filed in the case.
