Montgomery County news, Alabama news.

The Alabama father of a missing one-month-old boy had been arrested and charged with manslaughter after the baby’s remains were found in a wooded area late Wednesday.

Hours after he emotionally pleaded with the public to help and assist in the search for Caleb Jr., Caleb Whisnand Sr. was named the primary suspect in his baby’s death.

“I don’t remember a lot but I did remember I was breaking up, ya know, with the cops,” the 32-year-old said.

“If anybody’s got anything, any places that I could have gone, you know who you are. Please find him, please.”

Whisnand had claimed that Caleb Jr., went missing from the car when he went pay at a gas station at the Circle K on Wetumpka Highway and police confirmed the father and son were spotted there together.

Caleb Jr.’s grandmother had been suspecting Whisnand since the infant vanished Saturday, claiming that Gardner was planning to leave him.

“I think that’s the reason he took the baby,” she said.
