A Wisconsin father had pleaded guilty to homicide before the end of his trial after he killed his 5-year-old son over a slice of cheesecake last year.
Travis Stackhouse, 30, punched son Sir Amer’s abdomen so badly that his stomach and kidneys ruptured and his adrenal gland damaged. Sir Amer died hours later at the hospital.
He also hit the boy’s face with the back of his hand that had metal in it following surgery. Stackhouse then left the home to a bar and was arrested upon his return.
Prosecutors said that Sir Amer and his siblings were eating the cheesecake with their violent father on Father’s Day when the deadly incident occurred.
Stackhouse faces up to 37 years behind bars after making the guilty plea to second-degree reckless homicide, child abuse, and child neglect.
