Philadelphia authorities have arrested a mom after she received medical treatment following an attempted suicide early Thursday.
The woman had unsuccessfully tried to take her own life at around 11:43 a.m. leaping from a third-floor window on the 1500 block of N. 52nd Street where she lived.
Inside her apartment, police found two unresponsive toddlers, later determined to be the suicidal mom’s daughters.
The girls, ages 4 and 2, suffered injuries to their faces with the younger bleeding from her nose and mouth and trapped between a wall and boxes.
They were transported to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia where they remain in critical condition.
Preliminary information revealed the mother may have some mental health issues.
She refused to talk to the police and attempted to flee after landing on the street.
