Pennsylvania teen, 13, shot dead months after she vanished from family home

A fatal shooting victim in Philadelphia was identified as a missing 13-year-old girl who had not been seen since last October.

Alezauna Carter was shot in the mouth and killed inside a Philadelphia apartment on April 18 and identifying her took weeks, detectives said.

The suspect was caught on surveillance footage wearing a red shirt and red pants. A reward of $20,000 is being offered to anyone with information about him.

    “She was a strong girl, but she didn’t deserve this,” Alezauna’s mom said. “We all tried to look for her and keep her safe every day.”

    The victim’s cousin said that she was kind even with her recurrent attempts to evade her family home.

    “They think cause she out in the street, she doing something bad. People just hang around the wrong group of people.”
