Minneapolis news, Minnesota news.

Minnesota authorities said that former officer Derek Chauvin was placed on suicide-watch in an individual cell inside a maximum security jail outside Minneapolis.

The 45-year-old looked disheveled in his new mugshot just after he was found guilty of all charges against him.

Officials said that George Floyd’s murderer will be closely monitored and separated from other prisoners who may harm him because he is a high-risk offender.

Chauvin was wearing a mask that covered his face as he heard the jury’s decision Tuesday. His lawyer Eric Nelson said that Chauvin scrawled his phone number on his hand before learning his fate.

Officers escorted him out of the courtroom immediately after the verdict was read and he was not allowed to speak with Nelson.
