Dallas authorities said that an 11-year-old boy had succumbed to a head gunshot wound he sustained while playing with two other kids earlier this week.

The victim was identified as Dazmon Brown Jr. He died at a local hospital last Sunday following the accidental shooting at a Walmart parking lot.

Brown’s mom said that she had left him in the care of his pal’s parents. That friend’s 9-year-old brother was the one who opened fire.

“The youngest brother I guess ended up getting it off the safety and shot my child in his head,” the mom said.

The statement continued: “The witness, a 32-year-old female, had parked her vehicle at the location and left the complainant and the 9-year-old male suspect alone in her vehicle while she went shopping. They found a handgun in the vehicle and shot the complainant.”
