Mississippi news, US news.

The search for a Louisiana teen seems grim as K-9 units focused on the same area on the massive Mississippi River near where she abandoned her car Wednesday.

LSU freshman Kori Gauthier, 19, vanished leaving her vehicle on the Mississippi River Bridge. Inside, Gauthier’s wallet and phone were also found.

Police began search efforts in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on Friday morning with drones, helicopters, and boats deployed along the river over the weekend.

By Saturday evening, authorities revealed that a “K9 cadaver dog with Mercy Search & Rescue alerted twice in the same area on the river, which is 85-90 feet deep with conditions that were unsafe to deploy divers.”
