A vaccination site in Commerce City, Colorado has shut down for the day on Wednesday after recording 13 adverse reaction cases to Johnson & Johnson vaccine jabs.
Centura Health officials declined to elaborate over the incident that represents 1 percent of more than 1,700 inoculations performed at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park.
“We followed our protocols and in an abundance of caution, made the decision – in partnership with the state - to pause operations for the remainder of the day,” they said.
More than 600 people with appointments were turned away and expected to be rescheduled to other sites following the decision.
Health authorities did not specify the adverse reactions patients developed after receiving their Johnson & Johnson shots.
