Baltimore plant manufacturing Johnson & Johnson and AZ vaccines halt shipments after ruining 15million doses

Baltimore news, Maryland news.

A disastrous plant mix-up led officials at a Baltimore factory where Johnson & Johnson and AstraZeneca jabs are manufactured to halt over 15million doses they labeled “ruined.”

A massive development error at the company lab forced the delay of the production lines after ingredients of the two vaccines were accidentally combined.

The FDA had granted emergency approval for the J&J vaccine last February. The Baltimore plant was expected to produce tens of millions of shots in the next few weeks.

The production goal can still be reached despite the enormous mix-up resulting from a human error, federal officials said.
