A momma snake was discovered inside a makeshift home in the electrical outlet of a South Carolina home last month.
The two-foot snake was found with at least twenty of her eggs, prompting residents to call environmental authorities for help.
“The snake was a rat snake and she had laid her eggs, about 15-20, in the outlet, which was really interesting,” Alpha Wildlife’s Adam Adams said.
“When you popped off the cover, there were all these little gems. They looked like porcelain eggs. They were really cool – and they had all hatched.”
The rat snake species is not venomous and present no threat to people but residents of the Charleston’s home were happy to see it leaving.
Capturing the snake was an easy mission for Adams, however, the baby snakes had dispersed at the time of the discovery and the search for them continues.
