An investigation has been launched by the Robeson County Sheriff’s Officer after the grisly discovery of ten deceased dogs in trash bags last weekend.
Volunteers with the “Operation Spring Cleaning” were picking up trash Saturday when they stumbled upon the remains of several dogs.
The ten bodies were in decomposition which has prohibited authorities from ruling an immediate manner of death.
“Sadly, and under current investigation was the discovery of 10 dogs (mostly but not all pit-bulls¬) wrapped in trash bags and thrown alongside a ditch bank,” Robeson County Sheriff Burnis Wilkins said.
“We’re hoping somebody comes forward.”
Other odds finds were also made including a brand-new large screen TV, a refrigerator, and a stove.
