Kenosha news, Wisconsin news.

Wisconsin authorities said that they had been contacted during an argument that escalated to murder late Monday but couldn’t make it to the scene in time.

When police arrived at the Kenosha, Wisconsin residence of a woman asking for help, she was dead on the stairwell exit.

26-year-old Charniese Brown told a 911 dispatcher “He’s trying to kill me” at around 5:20 p.m. and the operator could clearly hear her screams and a violent scuffle.

51-year-old Ranon Brownlee was arrested at the scene. The couple’s six children were all home at the time of the murder.

“You played me all weekend,” Brownlee told his victim in the last text exchange.

“Have fun tonight like it’s your last. You already cheated. The crime is done. The state can have my kids. They’re better off. I don’t care what happens to me. Life is over to me. I’m done. I can’t take it no more.”

Brownlee repeatedly stabbed his girlfriend before fatally shooting her, police said. He had been living at her home for around a year.
