Authorities said Wednesday that the body of a missing mom-of-two had been located in an abandoned car five months after she vanished.
26-year-old Destini Smothers’ body was discovered by the Department of Sanitation workers inside the trunk of an abandoned dark-colored Hybrid Toyota that had no plates.
The workers were trying to remove the car from 160-47 Lefferts Boulevard in Ozone Park when they made the grim discovery at around 10 a.m.
Smothers was last seen alive late on Nov. 3 as she partied with her boyfriend at the Bowlero Bowling alley.
Witnesses described how the couple got into a “heated argument” before she left her black 2011 Toyota Camry Hybrid and walked away.
