A 38-year-old Sacramento-area resident has been busted after authorities discovered more than 100 guns and thousands of ammunition rounds at his home early Thursday.
The suspect called 911 at around 2 a.m. to report that workers fixing gas lines at his residence were eating his food and “the dispatcher could hear a gunshot in the background.”
Bradley Bodai then told the dispatcher that he fired the shot at one of the workers, Sacramento County Sheriff’s Sgt. Rod Grassmann said.
But when cops arrived, it turned out that no one else was there other than Bodai who calmly waited for police outside the home.
The search of his residence revealed pallets of ammunition and weapons including guns and assault-style rifles as well as three sticks of dynamite.
“It was stunning to see the array of weaponry in this house,” the sheriff said adding that law enforcement had to evacuate over 1,800 residents within a half-mile radius of the suspect’s home.
“I certainly never thought he would stockpile an arsenal like this,” neighbor Dennis Litwin said. “I never had any idea.”
