Lakewood Police are investigating the death of an 11-year-old girl who killed herself while recording a video.
The incident occurred at around 11 p.m. when the deceased girl’s younger brother, a 10-year-old, called the police for help.
The girl sustained a gunshot wound to her head and detectives believe she got hold of her mother’s gun that later went off.

It is unclear if the children's mom was at home when the shooting occurred.
She was taken to Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital where she died. Authorities are investigating whether the incident was an accident or an intentional shooting.
According to the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence, eight children are hurt or killed across the US because of unsecured guns.
