A Philadelphia doctor doing her job at Pennsylvania Hospital on Tuesday had been repeatedly stabbed in the face and head by her patient.
“Pennsylvania Hospital is working closely with the Philadelphia Police to respond to an incident which happened Tuesday afternoon involving a patient and a physician, who sustained injuries,” Penn. Officials said.
The source added that the female physician was saved thanks to “swift action by hospital staff” and that she has since left the hospital.
“There was no danger at any time to other patients or staff in the hospital. All hospital operations continue as usual, and we are cooperating with law enforcement in their investigation of this incident.”
The suspect was taken into custody, according to the Philadelphia Police Department, and the crime weapon has been recovered.
