Researchers and health officials are working to confirm the possibility of administering a single vaccine shot to those who had already battled the Covid-19.

Dr. Anthony Fauci said that the results of recent studies were promising and “quite impressive” when virus survivors get the single Pfizer or Moderna vaccine.

“The boost that you get with that single dose is really enormous,” Fauci said Sunday.

The study from the University Of Maryland School Of Medicine revealed that among first responders who had successfully battled the coronavirus in the past, a single vaccine shot generated “dramatically” higher antibodies, nearly 500 times higher than those who had not contracted the virus.

“They had a faster response and a higher response than those that had seen the virus the first time,” Dr. Mohammad Sajadi said. “If I had COVID myself, I’d be OK with the single shot.”
