Washington DC news, Washington news.

Not long after he issued a statement criticizing her QAnon beliefs, Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Green fired back at Mitch McConnell in a Tuesday post.

“The real cancer for the Republican Party is weak Republicans who only know how to lose gracefully. This is why we are losing our country,” she said on Twitter.

The freshman House Representative’s name was not cited in McConnell’s statement, but he did refer to some of her claims.

“Loony lies and conspiracy theories are cancer for the Republican Party and our country,” McConnell said.

She also alleged that the 2012 Sandy Hook School shooting was “false flag operations” on Facebook.

Democrats said Monday that they are working to remove Greene, who currently sits on the House Education and Labor Committee and Budget Committee, from her position.
