Authorities in Placer County, California have launched an immediate investigation following the death of a resident, hours after getting the Covid vaccine.
The patient, who has not been identified, died on January 21 in a matter of hours after the vaccination. Placer County Sheriff’s Office declined to specify the name of the involved vaccine.
In a Facebook post, the office said that the decedent had tested positive for the virus in December. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday to determine the cause of death.
“There are multiple local, state, and federal agencies actively investigating this case,” the office’s statement said.
“Any reports surrounding the cause of death are premature, pending the outcome of the investigation. Our thoughts are with the family of the deceased.”
