Central California authorities are actively looking for six fugitives who’ve been reported missing from the Merced County Downtown Jail late Saturday.
Jorge Barron, 20; Gabriel Francis Coronado, 19; Manuel Allen Leon, 21; Andres Nunez Rodriguez Jr., 21; Fabian Cruz Roman, 22; and Edgar Eduardo Ventura, 22 remain at large since.
Roman of Los Blancos, California is facing murder charges while Coronado and Rodriguez were charged with attempted murder.
Ventura and Leon have guns and violence offenses. Barron was in jail for a probation violation.
“A preliminary investigation has determined that the inmates were able to gain access to the roof of the facility and utilize a homemade rope to scale down the side of the jail,” officials said.
The fugitives are considered “armed and dangerous” and should not be approached; authorities said that anyone with information should call 911.
