An elderly Swiss patient has succumbed to days of unexplained pain after receiving the Pfizer jab on Christmas Eve but their official cause of death is yet to be confirmed.
The decedent, who suffered from dementia and resided at a Lucerne nursing home, complained of abdominal pain shortly after getting the shot.
Hours later over the last weekend, their blood pressure plummeted and cardiac rate soared inexplicably.
On Tuesday, the patient passed away just as the nursing home’s doctor tried to intervene.
Officials said that the patient had previously had a bad reaction to a flu shot.
The death comes as the country reports its fifth case of Covid variant from the UK and two others of the South African mutation.
Swiss authorities sought to give the nursing home’ residents priority for the vaccination to prevent them from getting the highly contagious bug.
