Body of missing man found buried in Denver backyard; Girlfriend arrested in Nevada on murder charges

Following weeks of intensive search, the body of a missing man was discovered buried in his own backyard.

Eusivio Luevano, 42, vanished last August and was last spotted at his property in the 4700 block of North Fillmore Street in the Elyria-Swansea neighborhood in Denver, Colorado.

Worried relatives reported him missing months later, on November 12, and for the next weeks, Denver police worked tirelessly to locate Luevano or his remains.

  • On December 5, detectives came upon the man’s shallow grave at his own Denver home. He was buried in the backyard and autopsy confirmed his identity and ruled his cause of death as a single gunshot wound.

    Authorities tracked down Luevano’s girlfriend, 45-year-old Kimberly Cottle, in Reno, Nevada. She was arrested last week and hit with a slew of charges including first-degree murder, tampering with a deceased body, and identity theft.

    Other charges suggest that she had stolen Luevano’s car and credit card. Further information will later be released regarding the murder’s circumstances.
