New York City news, New York news.

A New York City convict who had been arrested more than 50 times for various offenses was found dead behind the wheel of his SUV on Wednesday night.

Michael Ryner, 53-year-old, was dying and slumped over the wheel of his black Dodge Caravan that crashed when he lost control on Bay St. in Tompkinsville, near a police headquarters.

Ryner had apparent stab wounds in the shoulder and the back. He died at the Richmond University Medical Center.

The victim lived a mile away from where his car crashed. His wife said she last saw him on Tuesday and had no idea of his death.

Ryner, who was busted 57 times since 1982 mostly for drug and burglary charges, had been convicted in 2011 of a hit-and-run incident that claimed the life of a 16-year-old.

He claimed that he had done it in self-defense and served a year behind bars.

Recently, he has attacked a 31-year-old man with a screwdriver on an MTA bus in Westerleigh. It happened in April shortly after he was released from jail over COVID fears.
