While responding to an emergency call reporting a heavy foul odor emanating from a clothing donation bin, Maryland authorities discovered a decaying human body inside it.
In a Twitter post, officials said that Riverdale Park Police were called to the scene Friday at around 12:30 p.m.
“At approximately 12:30 p.m., Riverdale Park Police received a call from a concerned member from the community about a foul odor coming from a large outdoor donation bin designated for clothes donations,” the tweet mentioned.
Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit is conducting an investigation into the incident.
No further information regarding the circumstances of the discovery or the identity of the dead person was provided as of Saturday.
