Durban news, South Africa news.

Durban Police are investigating a grisly finding of a woman’s headless body that washed ashore on Thursday afternoon and was nearly swept away by waters.

Security officer Allistair Barclay was told about the body by a local guard who spotted the mutilated corpse at Cutting’s Beach.

“He said there might be a body on the shore but he was not sure. When I arrived, I saw the body and immediately informed my director and the police,” Barclay said.

The officer described the current as being strong that day due to windy conditions making the body rolling back to the waters.

  • He called police again and asked for permission to move it: “By the time police would’ve arrived, the body would have washed back into the sea. The female officer gave me approval to bring the body closer up to the shore.”

When he did, he discovered that the woman’s head, hands, and feet were cut off and her intestines were out.

Barclay couldn’t pronounce the victim’s race since the corpse was heavily decomposed and appeared to be in the water for a while.

Another woman’s body was found in a sportsfield in Inanda a few days earlier. She was later identified as missing Jessica Weyers.
