Bellevue news, Idaho news.

Idaho authorities are investigating a murder-suicide incident after a mayoral candidate was shot dead along with a coffee shop manager last week.

28-year-old Jared Murphy, a cop who was working for the Hailey town area, and Ashley Midby, 34, were found lifeless near the coffee Ashley was running.

“This world lost a beautiful ray of sunshine. May her bright smile, her cheerful spirit, her tender loving heart live on,” Ashley’s grieving mother expressed.

  • The nature of the relationship between the victims was not determined. But police said Midby was from a well-known family in the neighborhood and that she had previous knowledge of Murphy who was looking to be the future Bellevue mayor.

Following Midby’s killing, her friend, Jennifer Franklin, created a GoFundMe page to financially support the coffee shop workers.

“I am fundraising for the family to help cover unexpected expenses; such as loss of income for employees,” Jennifer said.

“The money raised will be used to support this family and the business (employees) Ashley loved.”
