Indiana authorities are seeking the public’s help to identify a blue van’s driver who dropped a badly wounded 3-year-old girl off at a Memorial Hospital’s emergency room where she died two days later.
The incident occurred Tuesday at about 1 a.m. Officials identified the child as Kardie Rose Weathersby.
According to witnesses, the car driver was seen leaving the hospital’s parking garage after dropping off the girl.
Authorities along with the hospital staff have notified Weathersby’s mom. It remains unclear if there is any relation between the tot and the person who dropped her off.
An autopsy is expected to be performed next week in Fort Wayne to determine the cause of her death.
Anyone with information regarding the circumstances of the case is asked to contact investigators at 574-235-5009 or 574-288-STOP.
