Panama City news, Florida news.

A Florida woman was booked and charged with aggravated manslaughter in connection with the death of her newborn daughter who was found lifeless inside a car while the temperatures reached 38 degrees.

On Sept. 2, Megan Dauphin allegedly left her 2-month-old daughter, McKinley Garner, alone inside the locked car all day long and totally forgot about her.

Several hours later, paramedics were called to the infant’s family house where she was declared dead.

The 30-year-old woman attended parties following the toddler’s death, her close friend reported.

“The Megan I knew would have never done this so this whole situation is very shocking to me…” The pal who wanted to remain anonymous said.

“All I keep picturing in my head is that beautiful baby girl wrapped up in the swaddle blanket I bought off your baby shower and to imagine her life get taken from that innocent child because of a mother leaving her child unattended in a hot car is so disturbing.”

Drug paraphernalia was discovered in Dauphin’s property that she has used for crystal methamphetamine consumption, according to investigators.

Blood test results showed high levels of meth in her system the day she forgot McKinley in the scorching car.
