Minneapolis news, Minnesota news.

The former Minneapolis cop charged with murder and manslaughter in connection with George Floyd’s death has walked free on Wednesday after posting a hefty $1 million bond.

44-year-old Derek Chauvin had been jailed at the Oak Parks Heights prison for over four months over the May 25 tragic death of Floyd that sparked nationwide unrest.

The Memorial Day death was caught on video that caught Chauvin kneeling on a helpless, handcuffed Floyd pleading for air.

Three other officers charged in the case have all posted bond and left the prison pending their trials.

Ex-officer Thomas Lane’s attorney claimed that Floyd died from a fentanyl overdose not from being brutally restrained.
