A Tacoma man was booked Tuesday a few hours after police found the lifeless body of his pregnant ex-girlfriend about 100 yards down a cliff in University Place.
Crews arrived at the scene to recover Kassanndra Cantrell’s corpse using a rope. Some of her personal items were found on a nearby beach.
“This is a sad ending but this is the ending we expected,” officials said. “At least now we can get closure for the family.”
She has vanished from her Parkland house last month. Since that, her loved ones grew worried about her safety especially after she didn’t show up to a pregnancy ultrasound appointment, reports said.
Camera surveillance caught Cantrell’s boyfriend driving her Mazda 3 sedan that he left in a Tacoma parking garage before getting in another vehicle.
He was later located by his car’s GPS data and is reportedly being held at the Pierce County jail.
Kassanndra’s last words were still recalled by her grieving mom: “She said, ‘I love you.’ I said, ‘I love you too,’ and that was the last time I talked to her,”
