Virginia suspect charged with murder after lifeless body of missing man discovered in North Carolina

Police in Raleigh, North Carolina has discovered a lifeless body they believe is a missing Virginia man who disappeared over the last weekend.

William Anderson “Andy” Banks, 39-year-old, has left his home to meet a Danville man identified as Justin Fernando Merritt over a car deal.

The victim wanted to sell his Range Rover that was later found with Merritt days after he vanished.

The body of Banks was discovered on Thursday in Pittsylvania County, North Carolina. His cause of death will be determined by the Roanoke Medical Examiner.

Merritt was charged with theft of a vehicle and possession of a firearm. Other charges are pending identification of the victim’s body.
