Castle Rock news, Colorado news.

On Thursday, a Colorado woman was accused of cooperating with QAnon to have her son kidnapped from foster care and is going to be put on trial.

Judge Lawrence Bowling said that the decision to put the woman on trial was a “close call”. According to her, the prosecutors weren't sure of Cynthia Abcug's, the mother, role. Authorities believed the woman was into a sort of a scheme with supporters of QAnon, a far-right conspiracy theory that believes that President Donald Trump is waging a secret campaign against enemies of the “deep state” and a child sex trafficking ring.

Abcug's 15-year-old daughter was the one to provide the evidence presented against her mother, through her therapist, a social worker and police. The mother's lawyers were not given the chance to question the daughter during the hearing.

However, they claimed that the daughter might've not provided enough details about what happened, adding that she learned how to calm her mother who became upset after putting her son into foster care in January 2019.

After leaving Parker, the Denver suburb where she lived with her daughter, Abcug was arrested in Montana on Dec. 30, 2019. She was accused of second-degree kidnapping.

Defense attorney Emily Boehme said that the theories have also found help among some government officials, mentioning that President Donald Trump has retweeted QAnon-promoting accounts.
