A North Texas couple is behind bars after the gruesome discovery of their one-week-old son inside a bucket of tar last month.
Roland and Donna Grabowski, ages 42 and 41 respectively, were charged with child endangerment, abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence. The charges will likely be upgraded following an autopsy of the infant that would determine his cause of death.
Since reporting the death of Micah, the parents refused to cooperate with police claiming he was found dead in the bed on July 29.
“They took the child and wrapped him in a blanket and submerged him in a five-gallon bucket of tar and put him in a shed behind the residence,” Sheriff Jim Skinner said. “I’ve been in this business over 30 years and I’ve seen a lot of crazy things, but this is the first time I’ve found a dead infant in a bucket of tar…and hopefully the last.”
