The mother of a terminally-ill Florida girl was cooking breakfast at the family’s Davie home Monday morning when she heard gunshots being fired.
11-year-old Angela Ng was gunned down by her father who turned the gun on himself in a tragic murder-suicide incident that was likely motivated by Angela’s deteriorating condition.
“It was a devastating terminal illness. She was not going to get any better,” Lieutenant Mark Leone said of the girl who had femur cancer, underwent chemotherapy, and was scheduled to get a leg amputation on August 28.
That was going to be the parents’ 27th wedding anniversary. Angela was their only child: “It is such a tragic situation, a terrible situation,” Leone said.
